April 2010
It's hard to believe that the school year is almost over. It has been wonderful to see how God has been shaping and molding our young peoples' hearts this year. I had the privilege of chaperoning many of our seniors on their recent senior trip to Edgartown, MA, on Martha's Vineyard. As a group, we spent 5 days and 4 nights on a gorgeous property that was a stone's throw from South Beach. Activities included three service projects; TCCS's own Amazing Race; shopping in Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs, and Edgartown; watching the sunset at Menemsha; bike riding; going to South Beach; enjoying home-cooked meals by Mrs. Nickerson; and enjoying great fellowship at our nightly Bible studies. Each evening, I had the privilege of challenging our seniors to think about the call God has for each one of them. Each student was able to share where they hear God calling them. Many of these seniors have been together since elementary school, and it was neat to see how they could confidently encourage each other to pursue the callings that were discussed. Within our senior class, we have students that feel called to be the following: Astrophysicist, Principal of a school, Radiologist/Nurse, Teacher, Military Police, and a Pastor. It is encouraging to know that these students will graduate TCCS with a specific purpose in mind, and that they will impact the world greatly for the glory of God. That is what it is all about for us at TCCS! I encouraged the seniors that they still have a month left to leave their legacy at Twin City. I'm excited about what God has in store for us in these last several weeks of school.

March 2010
We invite you to come and see what is happening at Twin City Christian School! The month of March is the time to preregister your children for next year. If you are new to the school, stop by our school office to set up an open house and find out about the incentives we have for you for next year. We are reaching for 200 students next year. Last year, we registered 80 new students! TCCS has so much to offer students, from a rigorous education to inspiring students to live their lives according to the Word of God. Just the other day, one of our very own high school students was so excited about the opportunity she had to witness about the Lord to a local businessman. It is great to see students get excited about their faith and want to share it with others. Families this year have been encouraged by the great fit TCCS has been for the specific learning needs of their child. They feel the sense that TCCS is their school; it's a part of their family. We appreciate that affinity parents have and want you to experience that too!

January 2010
This winter, I find myself reflecting on my own childhood. I also had the wonderful opportunity to attend a Christian school like Twin City Christian School. It was called Conestoga Christian School (CCS), located in Morgantown, Pennsylvania. I've always remembered my school years with fond memories. I think back on the wonderful relationships with both students and teachers, directing the elementary play in high school, having my dad as my school principal, playing soccer and basketball, going out with friends to see local bands play, and experiencing the nurturing environment of a Christian school community. In my adult life, I continuously would tell people that if I had the chance, I would repeat my childhood the same way it happened. Little did I know that I would receive that opportunity here at TCCS. Rod Stark, my news anchor character at the school Christmas program, helped me remember the Christmas programs of old. In addition, I find myself back in high school when I see the basketball teams getting excited about the beginning of basketball season. I was just talking to one of the Varsity boy's players who commented on how excited he was about the team unity and spirit that is strong and continuing to grow at the beginning of this season. As you know, TCCS has an advanced, academic curriculum; and last year our school, as a whole, was testing one to two grades higher than the national average. What a blessing it is to not only see our students pursuing academic excellence but developing deep and meaningful relationships that will spur them on to further excellence both academically and spiritually!
